    • Our laboratory explores brain function using cutting-edge imaging and photostimulation technologies at the forefront of modern neuroscience. At the core of our research is 3D two-photon microscopy, which enables real-time, high-resolution recording and targeted manipulation of neuronal network activity.

Our proprietary 3D acousto-optic scanning technology significantly increases acquisition speed and improves signal quality, while our newly developed online motion-correction method opens new possibilities for in vivo studies. These advances allow us to investigate neural network activity in moving, behaving animals, including fast calcium and voltage imaging.

Our goal is to uncover previously unknown signaling mechanisms involved in reward, punishment, and learning across the neocortex and hippocampus. A major focus of the laboratory is the development of photostimulation methods, and through our collaboration with Botond Roska within the framework of the BrainVisionCenter, we also contribute to human retinal measurements.

The laboratory performs acute animal and cell culture experiments based on two-photon microscopy in a strictly controlled environment and in full regulatory compliance. Our work is driven by innovation, precision, and a translational mindset, with the aim of connecting fundamental discovery to the next generation of neuroscience and biomedical solutions.
